The Carnegie Museum of Natural History was founded in 1896 by industrialist Andrew Carnegie, this 115,000 sq. ft. facility houses collections from all over the world. The museum features a wide variety of exhibits but is best known for its unique dinosaur collection. The collection is one of the biggest showcases of Jurassic period dinosaurs in the United States. Another exhibit not to be missed is the Hillman Hall of Minerals and Gems which features over 1300 different specimens. Through a partnership with Shadyside Inn guests can purchase special discounted tickets to the museum and our free shuttle can provide transportation to and from the facility.  Be sure to check out the current exhibit, BugWorks, for everything you would ever want to know about our creepy crawly friends. Guests of the apartment are strongly encouraged to not bring any samples back to their suite :) We have discounted tickets to the museum, just call the front desk to inquire more about them.
